KPK Assigns the Regent of Cianjur as an Education Fund Corruption Case Suspect

Jakarta, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) appointed Cianjur Regent, Irvan Rivano Muchtar as a corruption suspect related to the Cianjur District Special Allocation Fund (DAK) Education in 2018. Irvan allegedly cut Education DAK by 14.5 percent from a total of IDR 46.8 billion. Irvan was named a suspect along with the Head of the Cianjur District Education Office, Cecep Sobandi; Head of Middle School, Education Office of Cianjur Regency, Rosidin; and Irvan's brother-in-law, Tubagus Cepy Sethiady. "The KPK increased the status of case handling to the investigation and determined four people as suspects," KPK Deputy Chairman Basaria Panjaitan told a press conference at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (12/12).
