Families of Lion Air Victims Hold Peaceful Action at Merdeka Palace Today
kabar gram. Jakarta, A number of families victims of the fall of the Lion Air JT 610 aircraft registered with the PK LQP in Tanjung Karawang waters plan to hold a demonstration in front of the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, Thursday (12/13). They demanded that the government conduct a re-search for victims, because up to now 64 victims have yet to be found.
"The peaceful action, at 3:00 p.m., was probably in attendance," said a family member of Lion Air, Anton Sahadi
Anton said that in addition to demanding that the government conduct a repeat search, the victim's family also requested that the process of disbursing the rights of heirs be accelerated. The family also asked for Lion Air's promise to declare that they would immediately re-search.
"If by the end of December, we ask the government to firmly freeze Lion Air's operations, or even close the airline," Anton said.
The identification of victims of the Lion Air JT 610 aircraft which crashed in Tanjung Karawang, West Java, officially ended on Friday (11/23).
The victims who were identified were 125 out of a total of 189 victims. While 64 victims were not identified because their bodies or body parts were not found during the search and evacuation process.
Anton said Lion Air had not been maximized in searching for victims. He compared the AirAsia QZ8501 plane accident in the Karimata Strait in December 2014 ago.
"It used to be AirAsia, the foreign airlines only searched for decades. This is what the airline said that Indonesia's pride is not optimal. Lion Air is not responsible," he said.
Regarding the disbursement of compensation, Anton said that not all of the victims' families had received it.
Lion Air, previously, said the victim's family would receive more than Rp1.3 billion in compensation. The amount of compensation includes compensation or insurance claims and baggage.
Anton said the possibility of the family will continue to hold actions to voice aspirations. "It is possible, we will stay at Lion Air's office," he said.
